It all started with an oil mill in the hills of Tuscany. Its story began in 1332, like the story of this bottle. Only a few thousand pieces are made annually, making this product a limited edition. The relief on the label is a seal made by Leonardo da Vinci, now possessed by the original owners of the oil mill. Leonardo in fact, grew up in one of the houses of the same property as the oil mill, the Ferrale architectural
complex and was said to be born in the actual oil
mill.
The number, which is also the bottle's title, represents the year the oil mill was built.
The phrase underneath says ‘extra-virgin olive oil’ in Italian in specular writing, typical of Leonardo.
The mill is now managed by a few people with a dream to bring this place to life. Their aim is to produce an incredible oil of superior category and with that tell the story of the fascinating place it was made in.
